History of The Club
The first meeting of the club was held in 2000 and the founders were Tony Roberts (current chairman), and the late Jim Marshall
Before the meetings at the Union Corner Hall we used to hold the meetings in club members homes.
The club started meeting at its present location in February 2010 originally as the 1066 Model Club. The name was changed in 2013 to better reflect the area served by the club and its membership.
We are the EAST Sussex branch of M.A.F.V.A. (Miniature Armoured Fighting Vehicle Association), membership however is open to anyone who has an interest in modelling.
In 2016 the club took a major step in becoming a IPMS regional group and are known as IPMS East Sussex.
The club encompasses a wide range of modelling and related interests, from vehicles (military and civil), aircraft (military and civil), maritime, figures, buildings and scenery.
The club meetings run from 7.30pm to 10.30pm on the 2nd Friday and the 4th Friday of the calendar month.
The first meeting for prospective new members is free with subsequent and ongoing meetings having a subscription rate of £3.00 per meeting.
Refreshments (tea, coffee, biscuits) are provided, with the meetings being very informal.
Club members often bring along their latest finished piece of work and enjoy discussions about modelling in general, sharing tips and techniques or offering advice when it is asked for.
There is also the oppurtunity to bring along your latest work in progress to continue with whilst at the meeting.
If you are interested in coming along to a meeting please do so, you will be most welcome.
